“The Flower Festival was a great success; the total amount raised was nearly £3500.   It’s a great result, and we are really grateful to all who helped,  ranging from people with gifts, cakes, their time etc. to the programme sellers and attendants, to the refreshment ladies, to the stall holders, to the organists who played on all the main days, to those who opened their home for the preview, to the ladies of the Driffield Flower Club for some magnificent displays, to the sponsors, and to all who  I have forgotten  to mention.  And we are specially grateful to all of you who visited the Church during the festival.   St.  Mary’s is always beautiful, but enhanced with artistically  arranged flowers,  it looked at its very best. This wonderful result will give us a start in the restoration of a a further portion of the Church”
